Poppy Cat Birthday Treasure and Other Adventures DVD Review

Poppycat_DVDI’ll come clean, when I was asked if we’d like to review Poppy Cat – Birthday Treasure and Other Adventures DVD  I read the information about the DVD and thought that it looked ideal for my 4 year old Scamp but I wasn’t aware of  Poppy Cat as a character.

Having received and viewed Poppy Cat Birthyday Treasures and Other Adventures numerous times this week I can now report that Poppy Cat is incredibly cute and that my daughter, Scamp, is smitten!

I’ve discovered that Poppy Cat is a hit pre-school series on Nick Jnr and CITV. A British children’s animation based on best selling books by Lara Jones (they have sold in excess of 2.5 millions copies), again I hang my head in shame that I hadn’t heard of Poppy Cat.

Poppy cat is voiced by Joanna Page, from Gavin & Stacey fame and is a colourful and engaging series. Each episide is 11 minutes long and so it’s perfect for those who just like to let their children watch little bursts of tv whilst also catering for those *ahem* like me who occasionally like to enjoy a quiet hour cuddled up on the sofa. This DVD contains 11 episodes and has a running time of 121 minutes.

Birthday Treasure Poppy Cat

In this DVD Poppy Cat goes on adventures with her friends through fantastical lands – we particularly enjoyed the ‘Cheese Mountain’ episode but other episodes include Marshmallow mines, Chilly Hills, Bumble Fumble and Space Race. I warn you now – the theme tune will work it’s way into your mind and you’ll be humming the tune for days after watching!

The DVD also features a buy one get one free voucher to Chessington World of Adventures.

Poppy Cat – Birthday treasure and Other Adventures is distributed by Lionsgate and released on 3rd September 2012.
